John Siggard is the founder and owner of two MSPs (managed service providers) companies based out of Washington, Utah: Superior Technical Solutions and IT4Eyes, which primarily serve the Western United States but also have clients in the Southeast. John, who has worked in IT for over 20 years, founded Superior Technical Solutions in 2009. In 2023, John noticed a significant trend in their client base—most were in the medical field, particularly optometry and ophthalmology. In response, he launched IT4Eyes, which specializes in providing IT services tailored to eye care professionals. His MSPs offer two primary services—cybersecurity, including network analysis and security risk assessments, and general IT support.

John grew up with technology and an entrepreneurial mindset instilled by his father. His curiosity led him to upgrade the family computer, which his father encouraged by introducing him to a friend in the computer business. This laid the foundation for his IT career. As a teenager, he worked unpaid for an IT professional due to age restrictions. At 17, he was hired by Salt Lake City’s Primary Children’s Medical Center as a network engineer, gaining invaluable experience in critical areas like the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), where quick response times are crucial.

In 2002, he took a two-year leave of absence to serve in Mozambique, Africa, helping the community utilize technology. Witnessing the stark contrast between the wealthiest and one of the poorest nations opened his eyes to the realities of global inequality. Despite the limited technology available in Mozambique, John found joy in helping locals take advantage of what little they had. The experience helped define his personal values and leadership skills. Serving others in such challenging conditions gave him a deep sense of fulfillment and helped him recognize his life’s blessings.

Upon his return, he worked in various IT roles but was struck by the industry’s slow response times. This led him to launch Superior Technical Solutions to provide his clients with industry-level IT response times. John is most proud of the culture he has built within his team, emphasizing responsiveness, integrity, and respectful communication. Daily morning huddles and weekly meetings allow the team to discuss ongoing tech issues, review performance, and ensure clients feel valued and respected. As a nationwide MSP network member, John collaborates with other security-minded managed service providers to arrange local support for remote clients, ensuring high integrity, responsiveness, and comprehensive IT solutions.

Family is central to John’s life. Raising his special needs child has deepened his empathy and patience, making him a better listener and communicator. Advocating for his child has strengthened his ability to champion causes and support others. This experience has given him a balanced perspective, helping him prioritize meaningful work and relationships. In his free time, John enjoys strategy games, mountain biking, and long walks on the beach, which help him stay engaged and balanced.
